Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair 2012
Tattersalls Ireland is delighted to announce that following on from success of the event in 2011, the 2012 Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair will take place from May 31st to June 3rd 2012.
General Manager Roger Casey observed: "We are delighted to confirm the dates for 2012 Tattersalls International Horse Trials & Country Fair. The 2011 International Horse Trials saw record breaking crowds attending the Ratoath venue and represented a coming of age for this event in what was its sixth year."
"We look forward to welcoming even more international riders & visitors to Ireland next May in what is an Olympic year. The event has established itself not only as a world class equestrian competition but as an entertaining family day out with an abundance of activities for all members of the family.
Everyone is aware that George Mernagh was the instigator and driving force behind this world class international three day event here at Tattersalls. A fitting legacy to his life's work and our objective in 2012 is to honour his memory by staging an even better renewal of the international horse trials."
Tattersalls Ireland is committed to developing the non-thoroughbred sector and this is further reinforced with the renewal of the Event Horse Sale taking place on October 1st 2011 in conjunction with the inaugural Autumn Festival of Eventing. "We again face an enormous task in securing the required levels of financial support to allow the international horse trials to maintain and build on its success in 2011 and we will address this annual challenge with vigour over the coming months," commented Roger Casey.
Welcoming the news of the 2012 dates, John Wright, Chairman of Eventing Ireland commented: "Eventing Ireland once again welcomes Tattersalls International Horse Trials and County Fair to the 2012 eventing calendar. This continues to be one of the highlights of the eventing season inviting the world's top class eventers and riders to compete on Irish soil."
