The Pure Feed Company is a new feed company built upon a tried and trusted concept...that horses have evolved to eat Fibre. The team at The Pure Feed Company passionately believe that to get the best out of your horse, you must not lose sight of the fact that he is a HORSE and that an understanding of the digestive system of the horse shows us that he simply has not evolved to eat high starch or sugar diets.
The Pure Feed range of feeds developed out of the enthusiasm of Lou Talintyre to find the best way to feed the 100 or so horses in her care at the Mendip Stud. Through a partnership with Robert Fowler of Nesler Feeds, Lou and Robert went back to basics and designed a feed that your horse has evolved to eat - the Pure Feed range. Lou comments, "We wanted our horses to be fed the best way possible, using the most suitable ingredients we could find. We weren't driven by price or packaging, just a desire to get the horses the best feed materials that were available."
The mixes have been designed to cover a spectrum of dietary requirements from the family friend to the professional competition horse. They are fully balanced and take into account micro-dietary requirements and as Robert puts it, "This really is a complete feed - it is fortified with optimum levels of vitamins and minerals and contains a high level of antioxidants. With less than 6% starch it is ideal for feeding many different types and breeds of horse without creating behavioural problems. The beauty of the feed is that you don't need to add anything else - it's all there! The feed is designed to offer slow release energy that the horses can work well on but without the need to burn off the initial 'fizz'."
The low starch and sugar and high fibre philosophy of The Pure Feed Company can help to prevent a multitude of problems such as gastric ulcers, azoturia and excitability, while the addition of Profeed pre-biotic and brewers yeast allows for improved digestion, allowing your horse to extract the maximum nutritional value.

Pure Condition
Packed with natural conditioning, this cube has been designed to be fed alongside any of the Pure Feed range. Super fibres such as Soya Hulls (non GM of course) have been combined with Micronised Linseed to create a feed that will produce fabulous results. Whether it is used for show horses, sales prep or simply to gain weight this ration will prove a safe non-heating method of conditioning.
Pure Easy
Pure Easy has been developed as a low energy feed, suitable for horses and ponies that are at risk from laminitis, and those that are in little or light work. At the same time it supplies all the vitamins and minerals required in a small convenient feed, making it ideal for laminitics on a restricted diet. Based on grass and grass fibre it has the addition of quality oat straw and a light coating of Soya Oil. Pure balance has been added to supply not only optimum levels of vitamins and minerals but also Profeed and Brewers yeast, to ensure that there are excellent conditions in the hind gut for fibre digestion.
Pure Sport & Stud
The original feed developed for the Mendip Stud, this ration has stood the test of time. Formulated to meet the nutritional needs of Working Stallions, Pregnant & Lactating Mares, as well as their Young stock, it is also recommended for horses competing at the very top level. With elevated levels of vitamins and minerals you can rest assured the horse will be receiving all the nutrients he requires to do the job.
